Department of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making has established a film society named ‘Tesseract’ to bring the film enthusiasts of SDM and surrounding areas under one roof where there is endless scope for creative and academic exploration of the movie world. All film enthusiasts are welcome to join the film society. There will be different types of film oriented events hosted by the society.
Objectives of films society:
In Alliance with the founding principles of the department of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making, this film society fosters young talents in the field of cinema to approach the art of film making with substantial ideas and orientation.
What does it entail?
The film society is a voluntary organisation where film enthusiasts are welcome to join over an annual fee of Rs. 100. The society organises multiple programs throughout the year. The events shall take place at any of the SDM college venues. The events shall encompass movie shows, discussions, meet and greet movie personalities, screening of newly produced films, launching new talents, etc.
Inauguration of the film society
The department of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making has inaugurated a film society titled ‘Tesseract’ on 6th November 2023, in occasion of World Cinema Day which was observed on 5th November. This society is created for film enthusiasts from within and outside SDM and allows open discussion on topics pertaining to film. Chetan Mundadi, national award-winning filmmaker inaugurated the film society. Dr. BA Kumara Hegde, Principal of SDM College Ujire presided over the program. Mr. Suveer Jain, Course Coordinator of B.Voc programmes and Mr. Madhava Holla, HOD of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making were present at the event among other faculty. Students of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making. Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication and Masters in English participated in the programme.
