SDM Multimedia Studio is an initiative to train the students in electronic media production by providing hands on experience. With weekly TV news bulletin, Documentary / Short film production, promos and interviews the studio facilitates the young minds to groom in the subject. The studio is housed with latest technologies and professional trainers. Students learn script writing, editing and anchoring extensively. The contents developed at the studio such as Nammura Varthe, ‘Golden Lecture Series’, documentaries, short films, E Lectures etc. are uploaded to a YouTube channel.
Nammura Varthe is the weekly news bulletin of 20 minutes, covering the various developments in Belthangady Taluk. The students collect information and develop them into news with visuals. During the process, they learn writing appropriate scripts, anchoring, recording and editing. This proficiency helps the students to face the camera and enter into the massive electronic media industry instantaneously.
Producing documentary involves a lot of pre and post production works. The students are provided with intensive training in every aspect of the documentary development. The produced documentaries are uploaded to the YouTube Channel of the Studio.
We encourage the young directorial talents to develop fictional narrations in the form of short films. Staff at the department guide them in every aspect of film making and provide the aspirants with hands on experiences. Some of the films are even screened at film festivals. Recording interviews is one of the important projects of the Studio. Eminent personalities are requested to provide interviews on their areas of specialization. With an anchor, the interviews present a brief history of the works done by the personalities and their relevance in the modern times. These interviews are being archived at the YouTube channel under the title Manada Maatu.
