Established in 1966
The objective of the department is to create awareness about Kannada language, literature and cultural tradition along with the inculcation of creativity and values of life. The department offers Kannada as a language to the undergraduate students and Kannada Literature as an optional subject in the B.A Programme. Students receive practical-oriented learner centered trainings through seminars, workshops, conferences, field visits and creative writings.
