The Department of Hindi was established when the college Commenced in the year 1966. Many esteemed faculties have contributed immensely to the growth of the Department from a centre of learning Hindi language and literature to providing wide ranging need based programmes like certificate courses, value-added courses and functional Hindi. The Department has grown qualitatively in teaching. In spite of the fact that Karnataka is a non-Hindi-speaking state, Apart from teaching Hindi language and literature at the UG level, the department has moved into an interdisciplinary area in translation and upholds an excellent Academic standard.
