The Library

Library is always considered as the real ‘powerhouse’ of any educational institution. The Library is having spacious building of total 1102 sq.meters area with proper lighting and ventilation. The College has a spacious library with more than 1,05,693 books and non-book collections. A unique possession of the College is Ha Ma Na Research Centre having 28,158 books donated by the well known literary personality of Karnataka Late Sri Ha. Ma. Nayak. The College library subscribes more than 190 periodicals, magazines and journals. It is provided with an e-learning resource centre too. It has separate reading hall for girls, boys and lecturers. There is a stack section, a periodical section, a reference section, circulation section, C section etc with all basic facilities. The seating capacity of the library is 400. For the purpose of developing and upgrading the library activities. Library has constituted a special committee called Learning Resource Committee.

Timings : The library will be kept open from 8.30 A.M. to 8.00 P.M. on all working days from Monday to Friday, Weekend timings Saturday 8.30 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. Sunday : 10.am to 5.00 PM

Staff : Total number staff in the library is 12, One Chief Librarian, Four Library Assistants, One Computer Operator, One Typist, and Two Attenders & Three Peons.

Mode of Issue : In library Reference, Overnight & Loan (One Week) facilities are provided for the benefits of users.

Collection of Library : Library is a growing organism and librarian play an important role in developing information repositories. Libraries Collect & preserve materials in order to serve their information sections.

Automation of Library

Library is fully automated by EERPMS, an in house developed software, for the purpose of data entry, information storage, retrieval, circulation, stock verification, OPAC, report generation, bar-coded books and student ID scan etc.

DSpace

DSpace digital library software is used to build up digital collection. At present Student Research Project, more than 1200 CAL packages, E – Journals, E-Books and information related to advances in Science and Technology are collected & allowed the library users to browse those information.
