The department was established as one of the first departments in the country to provide NCC as a subject to be offered at the UG Level. It offers a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The subject informs the students regarding the military history and the role of NCC as a student chapter of the armed forces. Thorough knowledge and practical orientation are given in the fields of map reading, drill, ship modeling, trekking, etc. Passing out students consider armed forces as one of their career options
