PG Department of Chemistry under auspices of CONCHEM organized a National Level Intercollegiate Chemistry Fest – Chemshodhana 2022 for the undergraduate students on 20 July 2022. Program was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Mohan Isloor, Professor and former Head of the Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal. Dr. Isloor said how lucky is today’s generation to get fully involved in such activities that totally enhances students’ organizing skill, which his generation had lacked. Clearing competitive exams along with the extracurricular activities will flourish students’ future and might open door of research at reputed institutions, he added. He also urged students to inculcate human values. Dr. P N Udayachandra, Principal emphasized on usefulness of organizing such fests and congratulated the department and wished the programme good luck in his presidential remark. Dr. Vishwanatha P, Associate Professor, Dean PG Studies &HoD, PG Department of Chemistry had graced the occasion. Dr. Nefisath P, Assistant Professor and Convener of the Chemshodhana 2022 briefed about the fest, welcomed the gathering and introduced the inaugurator. Dr. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor and Convener of the Chemshodhana 2022 proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Dhanya of II M.Sc. Chemistry mastered the ceremony.
The fest was designed to have seven different events such as Aikyam (Ice breaker), Rasaprajna (Quiz), Uthkrishta (Star of event), RasavarnaChitra (ChemRangoli), VrittaChitram (Documentary making), VicharaSankiranam (Seminar) and Nanavadhana (Video Juggling). Eleven Colleges from Karntaka and outside Karnataka have participated enthusiastically in the fest.
The Chemistry fest observed its valedictory marking the presence of Sri M Y Harish, Executive Officer, SDMEducational Society®, Ujire as chief guest and Dr. Vishwanatha P, Dean, PG Studies & Head of the Department of Chemistry as the president of the function. Organizing such fests knocks skill enhancement and helps overall personality development in students, it can also mould the students for the better future through confidence building, said, Sri M Y Harish. He also advised the students to go for higher education and congratulated the department for conducting meaningful events. Dr. Vishwanath P appreciated the efforts of staff and students in organizing the fest and wished good luck to all the participants for their future endeavors in his presidential remark. At the end valedictory function prizes were distributed event wise. Out of the eleven colleges participated, Alva’s College Moodubidire stood as Winners and Poornaprajna College, Udupi bagged Runner’s up trophy. Mr. Aditya Ballal of II M.Sc. Organic Chemistry, Student Coordinator of Chemshodhana 2022 welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Ms. FloriaFernandes of II M.Sc. Chemistry, Student Coordinator of Chemshodhana 2022 proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Dhanya K N of II M.Sc. Chemistry mastered the ceremony.
