Interclass fest contributes to nurturing unity: D. Harshendra Kumar
SDM College (Autonomous) recently hosted the intercollegiate and interclass festival ‘Kalarava 2024’ organized by the Arts Department. The event was inaugurated by D. Harshendra Kumar, Secretary of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Education Trust. He emphasized the importance of events like ‘Kalarava’ in fostering unity among students and enhancing their skills.
The chief guest of the event, Padma Shri awardee and social worker Harekala Hajabba, encouraged students to seize opportunities for higher education and shape a bright future. College Principal Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde presided over the event, highlighting the festival’s role in developing students’ leadership, personality, and competitive spirit.
Twelve competitions were held, attracting student representatives from various colleges across the district. The program’s organizing secretary, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Shetty H., welcomed the attendees, while Arts Dean Dr. Sridhar N. Bhat and student Sinchana T. introduced the guests. The festival included the presence of various department heads, faculty members, and students from the college.
