With the noble objective of providing professional training for UG, PG Students and professionals representing different fields, the PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a five-day free workshop on Adobe Premier Pro Software Video Editing from February 8th to 13th 2021 at the Computer Lab of SDM PG Centre.
SDM E-Resource Centre Executive Krishnaprashant, SDM Multimedia Studio Editing Director Rakshith Rai introduced the various dimensions of video editing and analyzed the conceptual and technical process of editing with the practical guidance. As the first innovative footstep of the institution to enable students to earn while learning, workshop provided foundational training on the concept of editing.
Video editing is unique conceptual and practical process. The creative command over editing techniques is based on primary knowledge. This primary understanding assists an individual video editing professional in blending various visuals, sound patterns, voice modules and musical composition aiming at constructing specific content of significant communication, said Krishnaprashanth. Practical training on news story editing, audio modulation and editing technicalities provided in the workshop.
Dr Bhaskara Hegade, Head of the Department, inaugurated the workshop. Dr.P.Vishwanath, Dean, SDM PG Center, distributed the certificates to 35 participants. Assistant Professors Geetha A.J, Madhava Holla, SDM Multimedia Studio Executive Producer Sunil Hegade were present on the occasion.
