Ujire, December 9: An awareness programme on ‘National Pollution Prevention Day’ was held here at SDM Post Graduate Center on 7 December. The programme was organized by Department of PG Studies and Research in Chemistry.
The session began with the presentation by Sonakshi of I MSc, on the topic related to pollution and effective ways to combat it. Supriya K. of II MSc organic chemistry spoke on sustainable measures to control pollution. Bindhya M. G. of II MSc organic chemistry dealt with the use of Green chemistry to combat pollution.
Staff members Dr. Sowmya B. P., Dr. Nefisath P., Dr. Vasantha Kumar, Dr. Rajesh N. Hegde, Dr. Sujay M. M., and students of I and II year MSc were present on the occasion. Nandini K. of II MSc chemistry welcomed the gathering. Parvati Avaraddi of I MSc proposed vote of thanks.
