Jhenkar 2019 , a two day Educational & Cultural Fest was organized by SDM PG Center on 23rd & 24th Jan 2019. The national intercollegiate fest was inaugurated by Sri. Shreyas Kumar, Project Director for infrastructures at SDM institutions, through lightening lamp & addressing in his inaugural speech about importance of events in connecting people with diverse talent & knowledge on a single platform, which remains as a long lasting memories in students life, aiding in over all development. Chief guest Dr. B. Yashovarma , Secretary ,SDME Society set the stage with formal beginning of events by ritually peeling off pingara flowers, metaphorically relating participants to strands of pingara, who have come from diverse background to explore their knowledge & talents & adding in his speech on importance of educational & cultural fest in invoking the theoretical knowledge with logistic perceptions emphasizing on the fact that although knowledge & skill acquisition plays importance in curriculum, eventually perception of relating people with world significantly personifies individuality & events like Jhenkar plays pivotal role. Principal Prof.T.N Keshava made a presidential remark by stating formal inauguration seemingly equivalent to resonating sound from conch marking the beginning of competitiveness & fun filled positive energy. The inaugural function was welcomed by Dr. B Ganapayya, Dean of P G Studies & Vote of thanks was rendered by Mr.Suveer Jain, Co Ordinator Jhenkar.
Jhenkar 2019, focus point is to show case vibrant culture ,student skill integrated with fun , energy ,opportunity to bring in delegates from different parts of Karnataka, expand knowledge & cultural empathy. The 2 day educational & cultural fest had registration from 31 different college across Karnataka with 438 participants.
The formal Inauguration was followed by popular events viz, Movie spoof, Mr & Ms Jhenkar, Science carnival, Management mastero Art attack, Retro remix etc.
Two days cultural educational fest Jhenkar 2019,concluded with valedictory function on 24th Jan 2019 at 4.30 pm in SDM PG Center quadrangle. Witnessed by Chief guest Prof Prabhakar, Vice president SDM College, presided by Dr.Ashok Kumar, Principal SDMIT, Dr.Ganapaiah ,Dean of P.G Studies & Mr.Suveer Jain, Jhenkar co ordinator. Mr.Ravishankar, Asst prof & HOD P.G Dept of Social work welcomed gathering, followed by presidential by Dr.Ashok Kumar, advising participants to participate in competition with a zeal of winning spirit.Report on Jhenkar 2019 was read by Ms.Prarthana.J, Asst Prof & HOD P.G Dept of Biotechnology, by recapitulates of 2 days programme, followed by vote of thanks rendered by Dr.Shashiprabha, Asst Prof, P.G Dept of Chemistry. The formal valedictory concluded with prize distribution for events of 2 days programme.
