National Seminar on “Vikasit Bharat @2047: Challenges and Future”

A one-day national seminar on "Vikasit Bharat @2047: Challenges and Future" was organized by the Departments of Economics and Rural Development in collaboration with the Research and Development Cell at SDM College Ujire today.

Prof. P.V. Krishna Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Odisha, inaugurated the seminar. He said that in the name of progress, we are destroying nature and society by questioning and behaving violently. He opined that development should be as gentle as extracting nectar from a flower. For that, we should all strive for the progress of the country by developing leadership qualities along with following our glorious culture and tradition.

Chief Guest, Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Institutions, said that the role of youth in developing India is very important. For that, we need to have proper goals and attitude. G.V. Joshi, retired Professor of Economics at Mangalore University and former member of the State Planning Commission, delivered the keynote address. Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, Principal of the College, who presided over the function, said that if the youth of the country cooperate, India will truly shine by 2047.

Guests Pratap Simha Nayak, MLC, Dr. A. Jayakumar Shetty, retired Principal of SDM College Ujire, Dr. Dinesh P.T., Principal of Subrahmanya K.S.S. College, and others were present. The guests were felicitated. Dr. Ganaraj K., Head of the Department of Economics, welcomed the gathering. Soumya, Director of the Research and Development Cell, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Shetty compered the program.
