The College organised a Seminar on the Challenges in Implementing the National Educational Policy 2020 in the divine premises of Sri Siddavana Gurukula on 12 February 2020. Smt. Hemavathi V. Heggade of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp. Dr. B. Yashovarma, Secretary, SDM Educational Society Ujire in his inaugural address lamented on the education system that focuses producing mostly the clerks and not innovation and knowledge. He felt that the pearls may be extracted only if someone dives deep into the ocean of education.
Prof. Narahari, Retired Registrar, St. Aloysius College Mangalore, Resource Person of the seminar presented his views on quality and inclusive education system at the backdrop of the New Education Policy. Sri. Ramakrishna Bhat, HM, SDM School, Belal presented the challenges in the implementation of the policy from the perspective of school education. Prof. Rajaram Tolpady, Professor of Political Science, Mangalore University detailed on the implications of the policy at the level of Higher Education. Sri Aravinda Chokkadi,

The seminar was participated by the selected staff members of the sister institutions of SDM Educational Society, Ujire. It was coordinated by Dr. M. P. Shreenath, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada and Sri Manmohan Naik, HM, SDM English Medium School, Ujire. Dr. B. A. Kumara Hegde, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany, mastered the ceremony. Registrars, Deans, heads of various departments and institutions and staff members were present.
