ROVERS AND RANGERS

Rovers and Rangers unit of the college began in 1995. It is a unit of The Bharath Scouts and Guides. It is a voluntary, non-political, educational platform for young people, open to all without any distinction of origin, race or creed in accordance with the principles, purpose and method conceived by the founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907. Rovering and Rangering are meant for Boys and Girls aged between 16 and 25 with “Service” and “Adventure” as its twin mottos. Training Programme on “Knots”, “First Aid”, Gandhi Jayathi celebration, Band – set service for the celebration of Independence Day, Republic Day Celebrations and Annual Sports Meet, Awareness Programmes, Drug Bank , Blood Donation Camps are the focused areas.

• Mr Prasad Kumar, Dept of commerce SDM College Ujire has guided Six Rovers and Five Rangers of RR unit for the third consecutive time and secured Rajapuraskar Award 2020-21, which is organised by Bharat Scouts and Guides ,Karnataka.
• One Rovers and Two Rangers has participated in “NIPUN Exam 2021” organized by Baharth Scouts and Guide training centre Mangalore held at Vivekananda College Puttur on 28/03/2021.

• Rajya Puraskar Exam

  5 Rovers (Amarnath, Bopanna of III BBA, Nikhil, Sagar and Sujith of III B Com) and 2 Rangers (Sridevi of III B COM and Raksha of III BBA) have attended the Rajya Puraskar Exam under the guidance of Ms. Vasanthi MK and Prasad Kumar. The exam was conducted by Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka at Bharath Scouts and Guides State Centre, Kodajji, Harihara Taluk, Davanagere District.

• 6 Rovers and 7 Rangers attended Nipun Exam conducted by Bharath Scouts and guides Dakshina Kannada District held at DTC, Pilikula.
• Extension Activity
  The unit organized the extension activity to the Rovers and Rangers to Anganvadi at Dompadapalke Village. 16 Rover and Rangers participate in it and they conducted few activites and games for the Anganvadi Children. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Vasanthi MK and Mr. Prasad Kumar.

• Rohith Prakash Veigas and Mr. Arun G.M. participated in the state level “Rovers Trekking and Environmental Study Camp” organized by the Bharath Scouts and guides Karnataka and Karavara District Association held between 20/01/2012 and 24/01/2012 at St. Antony High School, Honnavara, Uttarakannada.
• Shailesh, Sandesh, Arun and Rohith have particpated in the State Level “Scouters Conference (INDABA)” organized by Bhath Scouts Guides Karnataka, held between 08/11/2012 and 10/11/2012 at DTC Pilikula, Mangalore.
• Geetha and Arun participated in the State Level “Rovers and Rangers Meet” organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides Kerala held between 08/01/2013 and 12/01/2013 at State Training Centre Paalode in Kerala.
• Sandesh has participated in the State level Rovers & Rangers Trekking and Environmental Study Camp organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka held between 23/03/2013 and 27/03/2013 at STC, Gokak, Belagavi District.
• Sharth, Ashrith, Suhas and Akshay were participated in the State level “Rover Mate (leadership) Training Camp” Davangere held between 15/07/2014 and 19/07/2014 at Kodajji Basappa Scouts and Guides State Training and Camp Centre Kondajji.
• Sharath, Santhosh and Ashrith particpated in the State Level “Water Regetta” Camp organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka held between 04/01/2016 and 07/01/2016 at K.V.G Ayurvedic Medical College, Sullia .
• Sharath, Santhosh and Ashrith particpated in the State Level “Environmental Study” camp organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka held between 07/01/2016 and 09/01/2016 at Yatri Nivas, Devarayana Durga, Tumkur.
• Sharath and Ashrith have participated in the State Level Rovers “Coastal Trekking and Environmental Study Camp” organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka D.K. District, Mangaluru between 12/03/2016 and 16/03/2016 Mangaluru.
• Bhavya B, Geethashree K,Kavya N R, Kushi B P,Navaneeth, Ashwin B A Vishal Shenoy, particpated in the State level “Mapping and Star Gazing Camp” organized by the Bharath Scouts and Guides Karnataka held between 30/01/2018 and 03/02/2018 at Dr. Annie Besant Scouts and Guides Training and Camping Centre, Doddaballapur, Bengaluru.
• Navaneeth and Praveen and Kavya and Khushi Shridevi and Geethahree have attended the Preparatory Examination of “Rajya Puraskar” organized by Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka held between 02/06/2018 and 04/06/2018 at DTC, Pilikula, Mangaluru.

• Kavya and Khushi Shridevi and Geethahree and Navaneeth, Praveen received “Rajyapuraskar” certificate from the Honorable Governor of the Karnataka held on 25.06.2019 at Glass House, Bangalore.
