On February 10, final year students of the Journalism department of SDM College, Ujire, embarked on a one-day educational trip. The students visited the Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology (MAP), which is said to be the largest in Asia, in Manipal, Udupi district. They observed models related to anatomy and pathology.
Later, they visited the Udayavani daily newspaper office and interacted with Editor Aravind Navada. Senior Deputy Editor of Mangalore Sudina Ganesh Kulamarva explained the various aspects of the newsroom to the students. Sindhu Hegde, staff of Udayavani Digital, gave information about the work activities of the digital department. Principal Nagendra Thrasi was present.
Nagaraj, head of the printing department, spoke about printing, and Sumit Shetty, executive of the administration department, explained printing technology and the process. Sunil Hegde and Sanhita S. Mysore, lecturers in the Journalism department of the college, accompanied the students.
