Release of ‘Deepa Samanvaya’ and ‘Deepa Drushya’ Special Editions at SDM Postgraduate Center

She was speaking at the release of the special editions ‘Deepa Samanvaya’, a compilation of reports and features on the Lakshadeepotsava celebrations at Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, and ‘Deepa Drushya’, which includes video and digital content, prepared by the students of the Journalism and Mass Communication Department of SDM Postgraduate Center.

Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, Principal of SDM College, highlighted the importance of students being observant and acquiring technical and intellectual skills. “Learning theoretical concepts can help build a successful professional career,” he added.

During the event, Shraddha Amit unveiled the cover of ‘Bettada Hoovu: A Social Ramayana of Modern India’, authored by Dr. Virat Padmanabha, a faculty member of the Journalism and Mass Communication Department. Sunil Hegde, another faculty member, was felicitated for his book ‘Gunagani Gunarathnagala Dhani’, which was released earlier at the Lakshadeepotsava literary conference. The book is a tribute to Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala.

Dr. Bhaskar Hegde, Head of the Journalism and Mass Communication Department, welcomed the gathering and spoke about the significance of fostering creativity among students. The event was attended by Dr. Vishwanath P., Dean of SDM Postgraduate Center. Divyashree Hegde, a student, compered the program, while Naidile delivered the vote of thanks.
