“Activities that can encourage students to come in touch with, analyze and discuss world events and phenomena are the need of the hour. ‘Arthankana’ is one of the platforms that can bring the students in close contact of economic developments around the world, thus enabling their inquisition and abilities to analyze economic trends. Curiosity and inquisition form the core of student life” said Senior Advocate Pratap Simha Nayak. He was addressing the gathering as he inaugurated ‘Arthankana’, a student activity of SDM College Ujire.
The activity is managed by the Economics department and Rural Development department of the college, and was inaugurated for the year 2018-19. The first edition of ‘Arthankana’ journal was unveiled by Sadananda Mundaje, the associate librarian of the college. The journal is created and published by the students themselves.
Dr. A Jayakumar Shetty, HOD of Economics department presided over the event. Faculty and students of the departments were present.
