Research and Development Cell of SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire has organized One dayState-level workshop on ‘Research Design: Article Writing and Publication – Way Forward’ at Seminar Hall-1on 3rd June 2023. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. A Jayakumar Shetty, Former Principal of SDM College, Ujire. In his inaugural address he has highlighted the inquisitive nature of human beings and the need to nurture a research mentality. He emphasized the changing landscape of participatory learning, with Google providing vast amounts of information, and stressed the focus on teaching, learning, and evaluation in pedagogy. Key note speaker, Dr Anitha Ravishankar, Director of the UGC Centre for Women’s Studies at Mangalore University, emphasized the critical nature of research, stated that "Research should critically look into the issues. It need not arrive at a conclusion that pleases all." In her address She has highlighted the significance of extensive reading in conducting quality research and emphasized that research as an ongoing process.Presiding over the event, Dr B AKumar Hegde, the Principal of SDM College, Ujire addressed the changing pedagogy landscape and the need for students to actively participate in research to stay updated in their respective fields. He further emphasized that researchers in humanities must be avid observers of human quests, as it provides them with areas of research. He stressed that curiosity is the key to all inventions and plays a vital role in the pursuit of research. While Dr. Sowmya B.P., Director, Research and Development Cell, SDM College Ujire welcomed the gathering, Dr. Ganaraja K., the Convener, proposed vote of thanks and Dr. Nefisath PAssistant Professor of Chemistry anchored the program.
