The dawn of 30 January 2023, saw colourful flags, and flower decorations at the entrance of the college. NCC Cadets in Uniforms, Rangoli in the entrance of the college along with the band set of Rovers and Rangers, to offer a ceremonial welcome to the members of the NAAC Peer Team who came for Assessment and Accreditation. Dr A Jayakumar Shetty, Principal, along with the staff and students of the college welcomed Prof Sanjay Kumar Satapathy, Vice Chancellor of Kalahandi University, Orissa as the Chairman of the team, Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar Punjab as the Team Coordinator and Prof. Mahadev Gavhane, Principal, Rajarshi Shahu Mahavidyalaya, Latur as the member of the team.
The assessment process began with the Principal’s presentation in the morning followed by the IQAC Presentation. Later, the team visited various departments and the exhibition hall of the college. Post lunch, the team interacted with the Alumni and parents and collected feedback on the institutional activities. The team interacted with Dr D Veerendra Heggade, President, Sri D Harshendra Kumar and Dr S Satheeshchandra, Secretaries and Members of SDM E Society during the interaction with the Management. The team visited the SDM Cultural Centre, NCC, NSS and Rovers and Rangers units of the college, facilities such as the Canteen, Bank, Post Office and finally watched the students’ performances of SDM Kalavaibhava.
The team visits to the PG Centre, Arboretum and various other facilities is scheduled for the 31 before the exit meeting.
