The flag hoisting ceremony held at RatnavarmaHeggade Stadium of SDM College in connection with Republic Day celebration. It reflected the diversity, discipline and cultural excellence of the country. The main attraction was the disciplined participation of all the cadets of the NCC department of the college as part of the Republic Day. Secretary of SDM Educational Institutions Dr.Satishchandra S performed the flag hoisting. Another attention was drawn from the college band set of rovers and rangers. The main attraction of the program was the NCC cadets who marched in a disciplined manner to this tune. Hundred cadets of Army and hundred students of Navy participated. The students of different schools and colleges of SDM Educational Institute held tricolor flags and expressed their national pride.Bunches of colored balloons were an expression of patriotism. Holding saffron, white, green-colored items and a blue colored wheel, the students of Kalakendra and the students of the dormitory presented the concept of tricolor flag in a unique way with the national devotional song ‘SaareJahanseAccha’.
On the same occasion, the students of SDM Naturopathy and Science Center unveiled the costumes of different states of the country. The song ‘VandeMataram’ depicts the culture of different states including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Punjab, Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh. Through dance, he convinced us that we are all Indians, even though there are different rituals in our country, which preaches unity in diversity. Principal of SDM College Dr. Jayakumar Shetty, Dean of Post Graduate Center Dr. Vishwanath P, Principals of various schools and colleges of the institution and heads of departments were present.
