One Week International FDP on “AI in Teaching, Learning and Research”

The Department of PG Studies & Research in Commerce, SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire, in collaboration with Cape Comorin Trust, Tamil Nadu, organized a one-week International Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "AI in Teaching, Learning, and Research" from January 6-12, 2025. The inaugural ceremony was held on January 6, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the Webinar Hall, SDM College. The ceremony commenced with an invocation prayer by Ms. Amrutha and Team, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Priya Kumari S V, Head of the Department of PG Studies & Research in Commerce.

The International FDP was officially inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. Srinivas K J, Global Lead, YouTube Cross Product Safety, Google, California, USA. In his inaugural address, Mr. Srinivas K J elaborated on the significance and role of AI in education and various sectors. Dr. B A Kumara Hegde, Principal, SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire, delivered the presidential remarks, emphasizing the need for upskilling ourselves to adapt to the changing dynamics. Prof. Vishwanatha P, Dean, PG Studies, conveyed his best wishes for the success of the FDP.

Around 150 participants registered for the FDP, which was conducted via Microsoft Teams. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Suresh Babu K N, Associate Professor, Department of PG Studies & Research in Commerce. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Uma, II M. Com (IBM). All the faculties of the M. Com Department graced the occasion.
