Research committee of the College organized an Interactive Programme on the “Patenting process” on 15 October 2022 at Seminar Hall-2, SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire. Dr Anand P Narayan, Managing Partner, Yantra Patents LLC, United State was the resource person. He spoke about the basics of patenting, patentability criteria and overall structure of disclosure. He emphasized on ‘first to file rule’- It is less about who invented it first, it is more about who filed it first at the patent office.
He explained about what to be done before filing the patent applications and how to check the innovation. He also briefed about provisional application and pros and cons of provisional specification.
Dr. P. N. Udaya Chandra, Principal of College graced the occasion. Dr. Sowmya B P, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Coordinator of the programme welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest to the audience.Dr. Shashiprabha, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Chemistry proposed vote of thanks. About 30 faculty members were benefitted by the programme.
