On March 31st: Dr. Kumar Hegde B.A, was appointed as the new principal of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College. He takes over from Dr. A. Jayakumar Shetty, who retired from his position on the same day.
Dr. Kumar Hegde holds an MSc degree in plant science with a rank from Mysore University and has been serving as a professor of Botany at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College for the last 35 years. He is also currently the Dean of the Science Department at the college.
Previously, he served as the NSS officer at the college and as the chief planning officer of the “Rajya Paryavekshana Parishat,” a state-level planning organization. Dr. Kumar Hegde is widely respected in academic circles for his research in the field of plant science and has published numerous research papers.
Dr. A. Jayakumar Shetty, the outgoing principal, served the college for several years with distinction. During his tenure, the college grew in stature and reputation and became one of the leading institutions in the state.
The appointment of Dr. Kumar Hegde as the new principal of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College is expected to usher in a new era of growth and development for the college. His vast experience and academic credentials make him the ideal candidate to lead the college into the future.
