The SDM Educational Trust has won the prestigious “Kreeda Poshaka Award – 2021-22”. SDM Educational Trust under SDM Sports Club and its many initiatives have been instrumental in finding the talents and provide best of the training facilities. As a result, one may see several national and international sportspersons shining at national and international levels. The Sports club sponsors several events and organises events at Ujire. The college provided scholarships and freeships for achievements in sports. A free hostel and coaching facilities are for the students, and they are also given special attention in academics. The college sports facilities include Sri Ratnavarma Heggaade Outdoor stadium with 400 Mts track and facilities for all track and field events, Indraprastha Auditorium for all indoor games, a swimming pool, multi-gym and separate, free hostel facility for boys and girls. Trained coaches are appointed, and dietary facilities are provided for the physical fitness of the athletes. SDM E Trust, under the able leadership of Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Sri D Harshendra Kumar, Prof. S Prabhakar and Dr B Yashovarma has been constantly supporting every initiative in sports on the campus and this award befittingly recognises the philanthropic initiatives rendered by the management in the field.
