Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition in Memory of Late.Shri Rathnavarma Heggade

Consistent enthusiasm towards taking part in variety of events in college is the key to an enthusiastic future, said the Vice President of SDM Educational Society Prof. S Prabhakar, as he inaugurated the inter-collegiate debate competition held at SDM College Ujire in memory of Shri Rathnavarma Heggade.

Participation is such that it brings an individual just as much recognition as winning, as one can infer from the amount of regards we give an Olympic representative from the country. Youngsters must always be keen about making use of opportunities and taking part in events. Also make sure that social concern always accompanies the zeal top participate and win, he added.

The Secretary of SDM Educational Foundation Dr. B Yashovarma, Prinicpal Prof. T N Keshava, faculty members Dr. Sudheer KV, Diva Kokkada and Shakuntala were present.

The participants were assigned the topic ‘Are mass media facilitative or deteriorative to social health?’ for which students from Sri Bhuvanendra College Karkala, Naveen R Bhat and Mohammed Riyaz availed the championship. The second place was bagged by Poorna Prajna Evening College. Rs.10,000 and Rs.8,000 cash prizes were awarded to the respective winners.
