English Department Launches Spoken English Class Series

The Department of English at SDM Postgraduate Centre, in collaboration with Akanksha Charitable Trust, Puttur, and Balanja Education Trust, inaugurated a series of spoken English classes aimed at fostering holistic development among students. The launch event was held at the Government Higher Primary School in Balanja.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Manjushree, Head of the English Department at SDM Postgraduate Centre, highlighted the importance of English language learning in shaping students’ overall growth. She emphasized that spoken English education plays a pivotal role in equipping students with the skills needed for social and professional success.

This initiative will be conducted across various locations in the region, focusing on enhancing students’ interest and competence in English. The program particularly aims to support government school students, enhancing their general English proficiency. Dr. Manjushree announced that the classes would run continuously for the next three months.

The event was graced by Akanksha Charitable Trust member Kavitha N., Balanja Education Trust members Ratnaraj Jain and Pramod Jain, Primary Section Headmistress Renilda Joyce Mathias, and High School Headmistress Sulochana.

The program was anchored by Mallikarjuna R., an English teacher at the school, who ensured its smooth conduct. This initiative reflects the collaborative efforts of educational institutions and trusts to promote English language skills among students.
