Youth in India should focus on entrepreneurship, said Janardhan K.N., managing director of Siri Gramodyog Samsthe, a rural development organization in Belthangady. Janardhan was speaking at the inauguration of a one-day national awareness workshop on "M.G.I.R.I Technology-based Entrepreneurship Development Opportunities" at the Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College in Ujire.
The workshop was Jointly organized by the institute of M.G.I.R.I & Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Institutions, the College’s SDM-Rotary Career Guidance and Placement Centre, and the SDM Institute of Technology (SDMIT) Ujire. Janardhan said that formal education is not the end goal for youth. He urged them to identify their strengths and focus on entrepreneurship. "Entrepreneurship is the need of the hour," he said. "It is the only way to create jobs and reduce poverty."
The workshop covered a range of topics, including the importance of entrepreneurship, the challenges of starting a business, and government schemes for entrepreneurs. Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of the Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Institutions, presided over the workshop. Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, Principal of the College, Dr. Ashok Kumar T., Principal of SMDIT, and Dr. Nagaraj Pujari, Placement Officer of the College, were among those present.
