In a significant recognition of academic excellence, four students from Ujire S.D.M. College have been awarded the “MAAM Inspire Award” by the Media Alumni Association of Mangalore University (MAAM). The award ceremony took place at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore, with Mr. Y.T. Khadar, the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, presenting the prestigious awards. The awardees include Rashmi Yadav, who secured the first position in the undergraduate category for the 2020-21 academic year, and Chaitra, who claimed the top spot in the postgraduate category, along with Swastika Kanyadi, who secured the second position postgraduate category. Additionally, Shyam Prasad H.P. was honored with the award in the postgraduate category for the 2021-22 academic year.
These four talented students from Ujire S.D.M. College demonstrated exceptional skills and dedication in the field of media and communication, earning them this esteemed recognition from MAAM. The “MAM Inspire Award” is an annual accolade that acknowledges students’ outstanding contributions to the media and journalism sector. The award ceremony was attended by prominent figures in the media industry, including Ravi Hegde, the editor of Kannada Prabha newspaper, and Dr. R. Upendra Shetty, the Director of the Universal Group of Institutions. Venu Sharma, the President of MAAM, and Navin Ammembal, the Chairman of MAAM, were also present.
Dr. Geetha Bilinale, the Assistant Professor of the MCJ Department at the college, guided the students. The event celebrated the academic achievements of these young talents and highlighted their promising futures in the field of media and communication.
