The Department of Physics organised the series of events to commemorate the “Birth Anniversary of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai”, the renowned Indian Physicist and the father of the Indian space programme, under Physics Students’ Association Spectra on 12 August 2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about his remarkable contributions to space science and scientific research in India. The programme included documentary screening highlighting the life, achievements and contributions of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. This was followed by students’ presentations, through which students shared information about his scientific vision, achievements and role in the development of India’s space programme. An engaging audience quiz was also conducted to assess and enhance the participants’ knowledge of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and space science. The staff members of Physics and 50 Physics students from I, II and III B.Sc were actively participated in the event.
