The SDM Post Graduate Centre warmly welcomed its newly enrolled
students with a grand Induction Programme held at the Indraprastha
Auditorium of the college campus on 19 th August 2026.
Inaugurating the momentous event, Dr. Satheeshchandra S, Secretary
of SDM Educational Institutions, emphasized the paramount role of
autonomous colleges in pioneering new avenues of knowledge. He
articulated that amidst the modern surge in technology-driven learning,
autonomous institutions like SDM are brilliantly shouldering the vital
responsibility of knowledge creation, seamlessly aligning with the
foundational goals of global universities. Welcoming the students to the
institution’s rich academic identity, he urged them to leverage their
postgraduate education to explore diverse global perspectives, cultivate a
questioning mindset, and bridge the gap between technical advancements and
profound intellectual culture through continuous dedication.
Adding significant corporate insights to the academic discourse, the
Chief Guest, Mr. Rohit Castelino, HR Leader at Elsevier Technology,
inspired the students to look beyond their academic curriculum and embrace
holistic development. He highlighted that mastering communication skills,
strict time management, discipline, and the optimal utilization of library
resources are crucial elements that shape a distinguished personality and
elevate both personal and professional journeys. Presiding over the
ceremony, Prof. Vishwanath P, Principal of SDM College, motivated the
students to cultivate exemplary conduct that commands respect and builds
self-dignity. He proudly noted that the SDM Degree College and PG Centre
provide the perfect inspirational ecosystem for such comprehensive and
empowering growth.
The auspicious event commenced with a soulful invocation by Vaidehi
and her team, setting a serene tone for the academic proceedings. Vice
Principal Nandakumari K.P. extended a gracious welcome to the gathering,
while Assistant Professor Shwethakumari eloquently introduced the esteemed
dignitaries. The programme was expertly compered by Assistant Professor
Nefisath P, and the event concluded on a grateful note with vote of thanks
proposed by Dr. Sowmya B.P., Dean of the SDM PG Centre, officially
marking the successful dawn of an enriching academic year.
