Ujire: The Mangalore University-level intercollegiate men’s volleyball tournament for the year 2025–26, “Sri Patil Saukuru Anthayya Shetty Memorial Trophy,” concluded on October 15 at Sri D. Rathnavarma Heggade Sports Ground, SDM College, Ujire. The event was jointly organized by SDM College Ujire and the Department of Physical Education, Mangalore University.
In the Mangalore Zone-level competition, the host institution, SDM College Ujire, secured the first place, while Sri Narayana Guru College, Kudroli (Mangalore), finished second. In the Inter-Zone tournament, Alva’s College, Moodbidri, emerged as the champion, and SDM College Ujire claimed the runner-up position.
Dr. Gerald Santosh D’Souza, Director of Physical Education, Mangalore University, distributed the prizes and congratulated the winners. University Sports Coordinator Satish Kumar, SDM College Principal Dr. Vishwanath P., and physical education directors and coaches from various colleges were present at the closing ceremony.
