Dr. S.D. Shetty, a renowned Kannada scholar and the founder director of the Dr. Ha.Ma.Na. Research Centre at Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatha College, Ujire, was felicitated on his retirement today. In his felicitation address, Dr. A. Jayakumar Shetty, former principal of the college, said that Dr. Shetty has the ability to inspire and guide people from all walks of life to take up research.
The function was held at the college’s seminar hall under the joint aegis of the Dr. Ha.Ma.Na. Research Centre and the Kannada department.
Dr. Satishchandra S., secretary of S.D.M. Educational Institutions, was the chief guest. He said that Dr. Shetty has had a close association with the college for over four decades. Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, principal of S.D.M. College, presided over the function. He said that Dr. Shetty has made a significant contribution to the college through his research and teaching. Dr. Bojamma K.N., head of the Kannada department, was present on the dais.Dr. Diwakar K., coordinator of the Dr. Ha.Ma.Na.
