Students Must Acquire Knowledge, Positive Mindset, and Skills to Achieve Success: Yuvraj Jain
Students should develop knowledge, a positive mindset, and skills to transform challenges into opportunities and build a bright future, said Yuvraj Jain, President of Excellent Educational Institutions, Moodbidri, and an alumnus of SDM College, Ujire.
He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Kalarava,’ an inter-college and inter-class festival organized by the Department of Humanities at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College, Ujire, on February 24. Emphasizing the importance of personal growth, he stated that intelligence alone is insufficient in the present era; knowledge and skills are equally essential. He encouraged students to pursue self-development in fields where they can excel, irrespective of whether it is science, arts, or commerce.
Chief guest and entrepreneur Mahendra Varma Jain shared his experiences and credited RUDSET Institute’s training for shaping his entrepreneurial journey. He advised students to maintain humility even after achieving success and to uphold quality in their work. “Circumstances are never constant for entrepreneurs. One should always be prepared with alternative paths for sustenance. Citizens should contribute to the nation as honest taxpayers and responsible individuals,” he added.
Presiding over the event, SDM College Principal Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde emphasized the importance of holistic development, encouraging students to recognize and utilize their skills and strengths effectively. “Students should be physically, mentally, and spiritually strong to lead a successful life,” he said. During the event, third-year B.A. student Usha K.G. was honored for winning a gold medal at the Indo-Nepal International Throwball Championship 2024. The dignitaries, including College Administrative Secretary Dr. Sridhar Bhat, Dean of Arts Faculty Dr. Bhaskar Hegde, and student representatives Ameer and Veesha, were felicitated on the occasion.
The program began with a prayer by Sudiksha and her team. Dr. Sanmati Kumar, the event convener, welcomed the gathering, while Manasa Agnihotri compered the event. Students from ten different colleges in Dakshina Kannada district participated in various competitions as part of the festival.
