A seven-day International Cultural Exchange Program, organized by the Belthangady Rotary Club, was inaugurated today at the SDM Kala Kendra of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College.
The program, held in association with the college’s extracurricular activities committee, features cultural exchange activities led by a team of students from Cambodia, facilitated by the Rotary Club. These activities will take place across various locations in Belthangady taluk. Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Society, inaugurated the event, emphasizing that such initiatives contribute significantly to personal growth, cultural enrichment, and global connectivity.
Belthangady Rotary Club President Pooran Verma, delivering the welcome address, highlighted the pivotal role of international cultural exchange programs in shaping students’ academic and personal development, with Rotary serving as a vital platform for such endeavors. Present at the event were SDM College Principal Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, Sonia Yashovarma, Belthangady Rotary Club Secretary Sandesh Kumar Rao, Zonal Lieutenant Manorama, and Rio Nagayama, coordinator of the Cambodian student team.
The event witnessed participation from Rotary Club members, students from Cambodia and Japan, as well as faculty and students of SDM College. The program was compered by Lecturer Apoorva, while Dr. Sudheer K.V., Cultural Committee Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks.
