Inauguration of SPATIKA Association and Guest Lecture

The Department of Chemistry, organized the Inauguration of the SPATIKA Chemistry Students’ Association followed by a Guest Lecture on “Chemistry for Your Future: Career and Higher Education” on 7th July 2026.

The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the inaugurator, Dr. Sudhakar Y. N., Associate Professor, School of Basic Sciences, Humanities and Management, MIT, MAHE, Manipal. This was followed by the inauguration of the Department Wall Magazine.

Ms. Nanda Kumari K. P., Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Chemistry, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of student associations in nurturing leadership qualities, teamwork, academic excellence, and overall personality development among students.

The newly elected office bearers of the SPATIKA Association were then introduced, followed by the oath-taking ceremony, during which they pledged to uphold the values and responsibilities of the association with sincerity and dedication.

The chief guest, Dr. Sudhakar Y. N., In his inaugural address, he motivated students to actively engage in academic and co-curricular activities, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the opportunities provided through the association for their holistic development.

The inaugural session warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Shradda, II B.Sc. The event was compered by Ms. Varalakshmi and Ms. Shradda, II B.Sc. students and session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Athmi, II B.Sc. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Ganavi D., Staff Coordinator, SPATIKA Association.

The second session featured a guest lecture on “Chemistry for Your Future: Career and Higher Education.” Dr. Sudhakar Y. N. delivered an informative and inspiring talk on the wide range of career opportunities available in chemistry, higher education pathways, research prospects, and emerging interdisciplinary fields. He encouraged students to strengthen their conceptual knowledge, develop practical and analytical skills, and prepare for competitive examinations and research-oriented careers. The programme witnessed the active participation of around 150 B.Sc. students, making the event highly informative, motivational, and beneficial for aspiring chemists. The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from both students and faculty members.
