Guest Lecture onTraditional Indian knowledge: A Scientific Perspective

Department of Chemistry organized a guest lecture on “Traditional Indian knowledge: A Scientific Perspective” by Dr. Arpan Kumar Nayak, Assistant Professor, Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Mysuru on 12 July, 2025. Mrs.Nanda Kumari K P, Vice Principal and Head of Department of Chemistry explained the relevance of the programme to the students. Dr. Arpan Kumar Nayak emphasized that ‘Indian traditional knowledge encompasses a vast and diverse set of systems, practices and understanding developed over thousands of years from generation to generations covering a wide range of disciplines such as philosophy, medicine , agriculture, astronomy, art, architecture and more. The idea of exploring Indian traditional knowledge from a scientific perspective is both fascinating and broad. This knowledge should be protected and pass to next generations for better future’. Prof.Vishwanatha P, Principal, SDM College, Ujire graced the occasion. Prof. Shridhara N Bhatta, Registrar Administration, Sri. Ganesh Nayak, Registrar Evaluation, Dr.Sowmya B.P, Dean PG Studies and all the faculty of department of Chemistry witnessed the programme. About 150 students benefited from the programme.
