The National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross, and Rovers and Rangers units of SDM College (Autonomous) in Ujire, Karnataka, in collaboration with the KMCH Blood Bank, SDM Multi Specialty Hospital, Ujire, and the Lions Club, Belthangady, organized a blood donation camp on November 9.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. M. Janardhan, Director of SDM Multi Specialty Hospital, Ujire. The chief guest, Umashankar Shetty, President of the Lions Club, Belthangady, said, "Blood donation helps many people. We should learn to serve. It is a work that God appreciates." Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, Principal of SDM College, Ujire, presided over the function and said, "Service to the people is service to the Lord. We should be satisfied by doing social work."
About 225 units of blood were collected at the camp. Donors were presented with certificates of appreciation.
