Department of Biotechnology has conducted workshops on “Bioinformatics” and “Molecular Biology Techniques” for the students of B.Sc Biotechnology on 28th January 2020. Resource person of the programme on “Bioinformatics” , Dr. Prasanna, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru gave hands on training to final B.Sc students on the usage of various Bio-informatics tools for data extraction.
Dr. Sudha L, Director, Aristogene Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru was the resource person for the workshop “Molecular Biology Techniques” gave information and hands on training on the isolation of DNA, restriction digestion and electrophoresis for second B.Sc students. Both the workshops were sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under the Star College Scheme.
