The Department of B.Voc in Digital Media and Film Making of Sri Dharmasthala
Manjunatheshwara (Autonomous) College, Ujire, organized a two-day workshop on “Web
Development Using WordPress” at the SDM PG Centre.
On the first day, Mr. Shashikant Shetty, Founder of Subweb Creations, explained website
prototyping, highlighted the importance of UI/UX design, and provided hands-on training in
Figma software. On the second day, members of the Udupi WordPress Community conducted
practical sessions on website development using WordPress. Trainers included Mr. Gautam
Navada, Founder of Fourth Focus, Ms. Chandana, Operations Head, Mr. Omkar Udupa,
Founder of Kotisoft, Mr. Manjunath, Founder of Ukt Digitals, and Mr. Shashikant Shetty.
Speaking at the valedictory function, Mr. Gautam Navada emphasized that “irrespective of
class, degree or marks, without acquiring skills, building a meaningful life becomes difficult.
Along with degrees, students must also focus on building their professional profiles.”
Mr. Madhava Holla, Head of the Department of Digital Media and Film Making, SDM
College, remarked that such workshops and guest lectures are being organized to benefit
students, aiming to bridge the gap between academics and the industry.
The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Ashwini Jain. Student Ms. Sinchana compered the
programme.
