Department of Botany organised a one day workshop on “Application and Opportunities in Plant Sciences”. 90 Students participated in this workshop. Mr. Shivaprakash M, Senior Director of Horticulture, Zilla Panchayat Belthangady inaugurated this program, Prof. Satheeshchandra S presided over the function. Dr. Kumara Hegde B. A. coordinated the workshop. Mr. Mahaveer, Assistant Horticulture Officer, Belthangady, Mr. Aju Shanal George Apiarist and young enterpriser, Mr. Suraj Ajila Expert in Hydroponics were Resource persons. Mr. Ganesh V Shendye convened the program. Promotion of technology driven self employment among youth was the main objective. The programme was sponsored by DBT, Government of India under Star College Scheme.
