On 7th November 2025, the Dept. of PG Studies & Research in Physics organised a program commemorating the birthdays of two remarkable women physicists – Madam Curie and Lise Meitner. Titled “Women in Science”, the program aimed at sensitising society on the role of women, their struggles and contributions in the field of science and technology.
Dr. Prarthana J (PG Biotechnology Dept.) and Ms. Sandhya PV (Physics Dept., SDMPUC) were the resource persons for the talks; following which, a science quiz and poster presentation competition were conducted. Students from UG and PG colleges from SDMC and other institutions participated in the event. Prize distribution was followed by valedictory session in the presence of Ms. Apeksha Jain (Head, UG Physics Dept.).
