Ujire, Karnataka, India – February 18, 2024 – Eight students from Ujire’s S.D.M. College won medals in the South Zone Netball National Championship held in Mehboobnagar, Telangana from January 11 to 16.
In the South Zone Fast5 Men’s Division Championship, the Karnataka team won the gold medal. The team included S.D.M. College students Puneeth, Mohan, Raj, Yashwant Teelkar, and Pavan. In the South Zone Women’s Division Championship, the Karnataka team won the silver medal. The team included S.D.M. College students Sinchana K. and Rashmi S.
In the South Zone 16th Netball National Championship, the Karnataka women’s (Traditional) team won the gold medal. The team included S.D.M. College student Suraksha. In the men’s division, the Karnataka team, which included S.D.M. College students Sugan M.C. and Puneeth Kumar, won the silver medal.
The S.D.M. College students have been playing netball for several years and have represented Karnataka at the state and national levels. They are an inspiration to young netball players in Karnataka.
