The Department of Hindi was established when the college commenced in the year 1966. Many esteemed faculties have contributed immensely to the growth of the Department from a centre of learning of Hindi language and literature to providing wide ranging need based programmes like certificate course, value added courses and functional Hindi. The Department has grown qualitatively in teaching. Inspire of the fact that Karnataka is a non-Hindi speaking state, Apart from teaching Hindi language and literature at UG level, the department has moved into interdisciplinary area in translation and uphold a very good academic standard.
