Taluk-Level Bhagavad Gita Competition Held at SDM College, Ujire

Ujire: As part of the State-Level Bhagavad Gita Campaign 2025, a Belthangady Taluk-Level Bhagavad Gita Competition was organized at SDM College, Ujire, on October 25. The event was jointly organized by Sri Sonda Swarnavalli Mahasamsthana, Sri Sarvajñendra Saraswati Pratishthana, and the Department of Sanskrit, SDM College, Ujire.
The programme was inaugurated by Advitee Rao, a student who memorized all 700 verses of the Bhagavad Gita during the pandemic and received blessings from the Jagadguru of Sringeri.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sridhar N. Bhat, Administrative Dean and Head of the Department of Sanskrit, emphasized the importance of reciting the Bhagavad Gita daily, noting that it cultivates a calm mind and strengthens one’s inner resolve.
The competition featured three categories — Quiz, Speech, and Gita Chanting — with participation from students of various schools and colleges.
During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Sridhar N. Bhat and Divakar Kokkada, faculty of the Kannada Department, distributed prizes to the winners. Faculty members from local SDM schools and colleges were present at the event.
