Department of PG Studies and Research in Chemistry organized an interaction progamme by Prof. Dr. Shivarama Holla, Former Chairman, Department of Chemistry, Mangalore University and Former HoD, PG Department of Chemistry, SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire on 20 June 2023. He interacted with II M.Sc. Chemistry and Organic Chemistry students.
Dr. Holla provided information about various schemes available to pursue research abroad and across the country at reputed institutions.He shared many success stories of Chemists with students to boost their love towards research and strengthen their decision of taking up research as career after MSc. Poverty is not a hindrance to avail higher studies until and unless one shows true dedication and determination towards higher education, he said. There are many financial assistance provided for the students to meet their dream of achieving higher studies, he added.
Students clarified their doubts and asked about scholarships available. They also queriedDr. B S Holla about industrial opportunities and scope for research work at industries. Dr.Vishwantha P, Dean PG Studies & Head, Department of PG Studies & Research in Chemistry and all faculty members of the department were present. Dr. Nefisath P narrated the interaction program.
