The Department of Commerce, in association with the SDM-Rotary Career Guidance and Employment (HRD) Centre of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (Autonomous) College, Ujire, organized a special lecture on “Employability Skills and Opportunities in the Modern Job Market” on August 8.
Mr. Preetham Prasad S., Head of the Career Guidance and Training Division, Reliance Skilling Academy, Bengaluru, was the resource person.
Addressing the students, he emphasized that in today’s rapidly changing job market, academic qualifications alone are not sufficient. Employers increasingly assess candidates based on key employability skills through technology-driven evaluation processes. Communication skills, aptitude-based competencies, and digital literacy have become essential for career success, he noted.
Dr. Ratnavati K., Head of the Department of Commerce, and Dr. Nagaraj Poojary, Director of the HRD Centre, along with faculty members, student representatives, and final-year B.Com students, were present on the occasion.
