Ujire, Oct. 28 — The 18th edition of ‘SDM Nenapinangala’, the monthly alumni interaction series organized by the Alumni Association of SDM College, Ujire, was held recently. As part of the event, scholarships of ₹5,000 each were distributed to 20 meritorious students of the college.
Prominent alumni, Mr. Jagadeesh M., Managing Director of G.I. Auto Pvt. Ltd., and noted Yakshagana artist Mr. Ashok Bhatt, were the chief guests of the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Society, said that every programme organized by the college contributes to the holistic growth of students. He appreciated the Alumni Association for continuously engaging in meaningful initiatives and advised students to maintain balance and values in their personal, family, and social lives.
Retired Principal Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, former Vice-Principal S.N. Kakatkar, and current Principal Dr. Vishwanatha P. were felicitated by the Alumni Association.
The programme coordinator, Dr. M.P. Srinath, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students were present. Principal Dr. Vishwanatha P. delivered the welcome and introductory remarks. Kannada faculty Dr. Divakara Kokkada compered the event, and Alumni Association Secretary and senior advocate Dhananjaya Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
