SDM College, Ujire Inaugurates Political Science Department’s Academic Activities
Education is Not Just Academics, but a Way of Life, Says S.N. Kakatkar
Ujire, July 17 — The Department of Political Science at SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire, formally inaugurated its academic activities for the year 2025–26.
Inaugurating the event, S.N. Kakatkar, Academic Coordinator of SDM Educational Society, emphasized the broader role of education in shaping student behaviour and character. “Education is not merely academic learning; it is reflected in the way students conduct themselves. Every day is a learning opportunity for a student,” he said.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Bhaskar Hegde, who presided over the programme, unveiled the department’s wall magazine, marking the department’s active engagement in student-cantered learning and expression.
Nataraj H.K., Head of the Department of Political Science, along with faculty members Bhagyashree and Shivakumar, and several students, were present at the event.
Class coordinator Achala extended the welcome, Manav Naidu proposed the vote of thanks, and the programme was compered by Manya.
