A short film titled "Vyuh" produced by first-year students of the BVOC (Digital Media and Film Making) department of SDM College in Ujire has won the second prize at a district-level short film/reels competition organized by the Dakshina Kannada district administration to raise awareness among students about the ill effects of drugs.
The film, directed by student Preeti Gowda, shot by student Aasray, and edited by student Akshay, features student Kavita in the lead role. The film was produced with the help of other first-year students. The prize was presented by Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister and health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Dakshina Kannada district collector Muley Murugulan. BVOC department head Madhava Holla and lecturer Indudhar Kinie were also present. The students expressed their gratitude to the college administration and their teachers for their support. They said that they were motivated to make the film to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs.
