B.Voc in Retail and Supply Chain Management

B.Voc or B.Vocatioal courses are an initiative by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under the Skill India scheme. The initiative is funded and monitored by the UGC, and educational institutions like SDM are evaluated and provided resources to administer professional courses titled B.Voc. The very nature of these courses is to provide maximum scope for practical exposure and prepare students to be career ready right after under-graduation.

Retail and supply management are amongst the fields facing the need for most competence in the given context, owing to the drastic shifts seen in shopping trends all over the world. The forever booming industry welcomes job seekers with a plethora of opportunities and challenges, for which SDM B.Voc aims to prepare and contribute competent individuals through this course

Course Duration

  • An added speciality of B.Voc courses is the liberty for the student to choose the duration of the course.
  • If the student opts to graduate and venture into the professional sphere within six months of the course, he /she will be credited with the expertise of completing ‘certificate course’ in Digital Media and Film Making.
  • If the student opts to graduate and venture into the professional sphere within one year or two years of the course, he /she will be credited with diploma certificate.
  • If the student chooses to complete the course of three years, he/she will be a B.Voc graduate, which is equivalent to any other graduation course in the country.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (PUC) in any discipline — Commerce, Arts, or Science — are eligible to apply.

Community Orientation

Extension/ Community Oriented Activity

  • Organised a departmental extension activity by visiting Seon Ashrama, Gandibagilu, where medical kits, sweets, and fruits worth a total of Rs 13,625 were donated, and various activities were conducted for the residents of the orphanage on 28 October 2025.
  • Organised a departmental extension activity by visiting Anugraha Old Age Home, Belthangady, and donated towels, soaps, sweets, fruits, and other essential kits to the elderly residents on 28 October 2025.
  • Conducted an awareness program on Rain Water Harvesting @ Nisarga Homestay, Kanyadi on 09/05/2023. Mr. Joseph GM Rabello was the Resource Person.
  • Staff and Students visited Sannidhya Skill Training Centre Ujire and celebrated Environmental Day under student association named VISHISHTA on 04/06/2022. Trainers & special children participated in this program. Sweets were distributed to all the members of Sannidhya Skill Training Centre.
